Another generational project in the books! At least phase One. A grandson purchased his grandmother’s home and thoughtfully began to make it his own. The home owner has plans for phases of change in the future but the first phase involved getting the most bang for his buck. He updated the overall appearance with a blend of modern and masculine. I was there to help with decisions regarding materials and style. I provided online shopping to narrow down his local choices and help him envision how what he started with could blend with his own personality and sense of style.
I love everything about decorating. I love Picking flooring, lights, tile, decor etc. Put what really makes my heart happy is repurposing something that has meaning. My client purchased his grandmother’s home and when I first saw it, much of the decor was still hers. While touring I came across an antler/skull set tucked away in an office. I told him he absolutely should use it as part of his design because it reflected his interests. During a future visit it all clicked together for me. I suggested using His grandmother’s plank wall decor with his updated masculine twist. I was almost brought to tears when he sent me his current pictures and I saw my vision brought to life. Grandma’s plank background, fresh modern sconces and his old antlers! He clearly embraced the idea and I think it is perfect for his space!
